That’s not your granddad’s hot dog cart. Double-check before ordering the foot long.

Hungry New Yorkers on the hunt for hot dogs this week may find a little more than big beef franks in several city carts this Wednesday and Thursday.
Unsuspecting victims – or city vixens – might want to take note that Trojan Vibrations, who make intimate massagers and vibrators, will distribute 10,000 vibrators from carts designed to look like traditional hot dog stands.
From Midtown to the Meatpacking district, the carts will roll from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will have 5,000 Tri-Phoria and 5,000 Pulse models up for grabs. Both products go for over $30 retail.
Claiming in a release that “vibrators have officially entered the mainstream,” Vice President of Marketing at Trojan Bruce Weiss connected the event to the company’s goal of “fostering an open dialogue about sexual health and creating unique moments that get people ‘buzzing’ about sex and pleasure.”
Trojan is marketing the event as the largest giveaway of its kind, and the move certainly represents a significant investment in advertising for the company best known for selling condoms.
Be it a genius business move or merely a pleasurable distraction, consumers seemed excited by the stunt.
One commenter on the brand’s Facebook page called it “perhaps the single best pickup spot in NYC.”
